Once I've Finished...

What happens when an award has been completed?

Bronze and Silver

1. Once all the sections are complete on edofe, your Leader approves it, and then it goes to LO, which is us.

Please see here for more info.

2. If we approve it, we will send a certificate and lapel and cloth badge to your Leader.

If you want to see where the badge goes on the uniform see here. The certificate, badges can be presented to you in your Unit, District or County.. This may vary from District to District . However the County holds a presentation evening once or twice a year when D of E awards are presented so along as you have gained the Platinum, Diamond or Queens Scouts Awards which we would be delighted if you attended.

Gold

1. Once you have completed all the sections and the GAP Form it goes to LO which is Gilwell. They will check that all the requirements have been met. If there is a problem they will send you a message in edofe.

4. If everything is OK it is then forwarded to the D of E National Headquarters in Windsor.

5. When the Award is approved by them they will send it back to Gilwell for return to the County Advisers. Depending on the volume waiting for approval this can often take some time.

You should not make definite plans for presentations until the award is confirmed.

6. Notification will be returned to the Advisers with a gold lapel badge. We will let you know as soon as we know, and send you the lapel and cloth badge.

7. You can now make arrangements for the badge to be presented. The D of E will write directly to the recipient with details about attendance at Gold Presentations at St James Palace. This is an awesome occasion and a very special day for them following all their hard work.
